Spring Flowers
Each spring before the Memorial Day parade, ASGC and Morris Plains community volunteers plant the "tubs" located along Speedwell Ave. During the summer and early fall, these tubs are 'adopted' and cared for by volunteers.
Seeing flowers thrive adds color and beauty to Morris Plains. They act as a "welcome" sign to our community.
Consider "adopting a tub" with your family and young ones! What better way to teach children about plants.
Roots and Shoots Program
Club members work with second-grade classes to plant vegetables every spring. Last year we added a fall vegetable planting of broccoli, kale, chard, and other fall hardy veggies. The children care for the plants and harvest them. We also plant flowers with pre-school children at the co-op school.
What could be more fun than digging in the dirt and watering?

Morris Plains Library
ASGC members work with Morris Plains Library staff members to create seasonal education and plant-related decor inside the library.
We have also donated and annually decorated the Christmas tree that festoons the library's bay window during the winter holidays.
Each summer, our volunteers proudly tend to the outside flower garden you see all summer in front of the bay window.

Thank you to all the community volunteers who participated in "Adopt a Tub" along Speedwell Avenue!
Our seasonal decor with evergreen trees and greens will eventually replace these summer plants. Scout troops and elementary school children also help us decorate by making their own ornaments and adopting a tree. If you have a group that would be interested, contact us.
